“THE RAINY DAYS PREVENTION OF SUICIDE FUND”
The suicide rate in New Zealand is of huge concern to all. The Rainy Days Prevention of Suicide Trust has been initiated following the passing of just one, Sonia Waititi, at the age of 21 years.
The Trust aim is to develop an alternative educational programme that will address many of the issues that people, but in particular our youth, are grappling with today. Issues including for example:
- Peer pressure
- Pressure to conform and perform
- Self esteem
- Relationship issues
- Coping with stress
- Violence and Bullying
With your help, The Rainy Days Prevention of Suicide Trust can play a part in:
- Helping to identify the symptoms of depression and when to seek help
- Providing information on where to get that help
- Changing perceptions of depression and suicide
- Helping those at risk find hope and understanding
- Building self-esteem and confidence
- Encouraging and helping people to reach their full potential
Please note that the Trustees wish to clearly emphasize the word “prevention” as the active word in the title of this Trust. This is a non-profit charitable Trust, with donations $5.00 and over being tax deductible.
