May
your Christmas and New Year be full of love, togetherness, peace and
harmony! There has not been
a lot of action from myself and Wendy this past year as far as the Trust
is concerned. 2008 has been somewhat of a roller-coaster ride, and we
have both, in our own way, had to take time out to honour and take care
of ourselves. Aaron, on the
other hand, has worked extremely hard while increasing his contribution
of a percentage of his sales to the trust fund, and will continue to
reach incredible heights of success in 2009 onwards.
My heart beams with a rainbow of pride for my Son.
My thoughts are in motion for the Trust for the coming year with
a strong focus on publishing my book which will be conducive to running
the personal development workshop (click on trust workshop).
Creative Exercise
for the Festive Season
Gather family/friends and take note of all the
little things that you have achieved toward making your life and the
lives of others better. You
will be surprised at the volume of wonderful things you have done, and
not given it a second thought.
Create a piece of artwork to remind you just how wonderful you
are. Each little piece of
your artwork represents each of the little things that when added
together, makes the beautiful creation that is YOU!
v Mosaic tile
v Knitted, sewn
or crocheted quilt
v Drawing
v Painting
v Stained glass
v A wearable
garment
v Collage
v Decorate a
hat
v Anything your
heart desires
Make it as beautiful or wacky as you wish, and have lots of fun doing it! Photograph your creation and email it to me, I would love to see the end results: www.purpleflame@slingshot.co.nz
Just a quick note from me. If you get the chance please don’t forget to tell all those close to you that you love them and cherish them for their uniqueness (even those family members who have their own challenging ways lol). The greatest gift you can give is love which comes in its own special gift-wrapping namely you. A couple of extra ideas for giving xmas cheer could be visiting a neighbour or taking a treat to someone you know who may have no-one (piece of xmas cake etc) or if you can stretch your budget, places like Westfield shopping centre have a ‘give a gift’ to a child less fortunate and you can pick the sex and age of the child you wish to buy for which can be an exciting and satisfying experience. All the best for Christmas and the wonderful new year and may all your dreams, hopes and wishes come true.

I have received an enormous amount of feedback from the single “Even
Though Ur Gone” and the article that was in the Woman’s Weekly. To this
day I’m still getting a lot of responses, how they’ve touched people,
made people re-think about life and a lot of encouragement on doing what
we do. To me the best thing I can do as an artist/musician is create
awareness and I believe we’ve definitely been successful doing that, so
to me the trust has already been successful. In saying that it I look
forward to what we can also achieve in the future.
I would like to hear from anyone that has any ideas for the trust or is
keen on helping us out. Also please let me know if you’re doing or
planning something towards the prevention of suicide as I’d be willing
to help where possible. It’s all about coming together for the cause and
helping each other out. I think it’s very important for the future of
the trust.
In the last issue of “Back 2 Basics” (Hip Hop magazine) I organised an
article on how the stigma of depression needs to be changed. I have
uploaded the article for everyone to read and I hope people gain
something positive from it. I would like to thank Ebony Nutsford who
wrote the main article, I’d also like to thank the artists who
contributed to the piece, DJ Sirvere and the Back 2 Basics team for
making this possible.
Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year
Much Love
